- Our 57th Annual Convention was held in Cuvu Sigatoka from 23 to 27 June 2016. It was ably hosted by our Cuvu Branch. A Souvenir magazine was produced to mark the convention. In its editorial the Acting National Secretary, Mr. Virendra Lal said that the convention had provided the opportunity to inform and educate the general public including the younger Sanatan followers about the vision, mission, values and principles of Sanatan Dharm.
2.The Convention was officially inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Fiji, Honourable Voreqe Bainimarama on 23 June 2016 at Cuvu, Sigatoka. Addressing a very large gathering of Sanatan advocates, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to the Sanatan Fiji for selecting a timely and appropriate theme "Sanatan - Promoting Unity in Diversity" for deliberation during the Convention. He said that the theme was consistent with the Fiji's Constitution that all Fijians are united by common and equal citizenry and wished the Convention well.
3. The National President of Sanatan Fiji extended his warm greetings to the Chief Guest as well as the other distinguished audiences and his the country-wide members. He assured the Prime Minister that all his members value the richness in diversity and are proud of their multiracial and multi religious co-existence. 4.Mr. Chandar Shekhar Singh, President of the host Branch, Cuvu, also extended his warm welcome to the Chief Guest, the prominent guests and all the Sanatan followers and members at home and abroad. 5. Pundit Dewan Chand Maharaj, the immediate past president and the chairman of the Sanatan Trustees, was also present at the Convention not only greeted the Chief Guest and other prominent persons including members from all the Sanatan Branches but also passed on his best wished to the 57th Annual Convention.
