Vision and future projects
Counselling session for youths
The youth wing is highly believe that today’s youths need effective and continuous positive support and good guidance to in still good practises in them. For this we intend to set up counselling services to all rural youths through our rural youth cell and collect data on issues that are common in their areas. This data will be shared with ministry of youth and as a result we would engage the required services from the ministry in these areas. We have also started discussion with Empower Pacific which is a renowned counselling service provider to support us in this project.
Initially our objective is to train youth leaders in every district so there is essay excess to counselling services when there is a need.
Representation at National Youth Council Fiji
For the very first time we have started our negotiations with National Youth Council of Fiji and have requested for 2 representative of our Sanatan Youths to be included in the council. Currently the council is having full membership of iTaukai members. The council is affiliated body of Ministry of Youth and has a major beneficiary of youth ministry’s grants and project. Once we have our representative in the board our youth will have opportunity to take advantage of same benefits too. It is very important that we need to engage our youths in skill based programs so that we can build crime free society.
The epic text of the Ramayana is filled with constant lessons, teachings and reminders, which allows the readers to be on the righteous path of Dharma and Karma. The modern day man needs to follow the teachings of Ramayana in order to overcome the ills prevalent in the society. If we look at the young generation of today – their life starts with a face book and lives with a relationship and ends with breakups. To engage more of our young members in reciting and promoting ramayan we have design a program KRP (know Ramayan program). This program includes workshop, drama, presentations and poster competitions on ramayan themes. We will set platforms for our young Hindus to do research and presentations and seminars on their findings. For this we will work together with Fiji Yuva Institute of Sanatan Gyan. This organisation is another Hindu medical student formation that has passion to promote moral values of Hindu teachings to general public. However we still need support of every branch to encourage their youth to be part of this program.
Monthly activity reports and news of sanatan youth will be supplied to youths through our social media. We are still working on this at the moment.
To conclude I would say that the more we increase the active participation and partnership with young people, the better we serve them. … And the more comprehensively we work with them as service partners, the more we increase our public value to the entire community. However currently we are in small numbers but the reality is that we do exist. “If you ever think you’re too small to be effective, you’ve never been in bed with a mosquito!
I also would like to seek every executive members support to move forward with my vison of connecting and moving sanatan forward. I request that in past few months I have showed what I can archive under my leadership and if the executive council have faith in my leadership then I would request for continuation of my youth presidency for next 2 years. This will give me enough time to found the youth more strongly and effectively.
